JUMP*SUIT: So let's say the original Gemini crew plan had actually happened.
According to Deke Slayton, the original flight order in Gemini was scheduled to be:
Gemini 3: Shepard/Stafford
Gemini 4: McDivitt/White
Gemini 5: Schirra/Young (rendezvous)
Gemini 6: Grissom/Borman (long-duration)
Gemini 7: Conrad/Lovell (This one wasn’t officially…
AGREED. Gemini 7 would have been hilariousness.
And Schirra/Young would have been an epic marathon…hair off. A hair-a-thon. EIGHT DAYS OR BUST OF POMADE
Gemini 6, hoo boy… that’d be the stone face flight (as long as Frank didn’t take any reds as they called them back then)
Yeah, 6 would have been an interesting one. I can’t see Gus and Frank being a good crew match for a two person flight. That would have been one serious business flight though. What’s worse, though, is that poor Frank was slated for medical experiments from day one. He was targeted as their test monkey.
